Health Equity

Health Equity means that everyone – regardless of immigration status, race, language, gender identity, or income, has a fair opportunity to achieve their highest level of health. For Newcomers, this includes not only access to care, but also access to sage, inclusive, and culturally responsive health systems. Currently, Newcomers face overlapping barriers when trying to access and attain health equity in Canada.
